American Corner Agbogba Inspires 561 Students Through Career Development Session at Kwabenya Community Senior High School

July 24, 2026 by

Choosing a career path can be challenging for many young people, especially during the transition from Senior High School to higher education and the world of work. To support students in making informed decisions about their future, American Corner Agbogba, Mobile Web Ghana, under the American Spaces Support and Strategic Programming initiative, organized a Career Development Session for students of Kwabenya Community Senior High School.

Held on Thursday, 23rd July 2026, the session brought together 561 students for an engaging conversation on career planning, employability skills, emotional intelligence, and preparing for future opportunities.

Under the theme “What’s Next After SHS? Discovering Your Path to Success,” the program encouraged students to think beyond academic performance and focus on developing the skills and mindset needed to succeed.

The first session, Emotional Intelligence for Education, Career Success, and Leadership, was led by Mr. Igbekeleoluwa Moses (Co-Founder, DIL Prime Concepts), who highlighted the importance of self-awareness, emotional resilience, empathy, and effective communication. She encouraged students to cultivate these qualities as they pursue academic excellence, leadership opportunities, and successful careers.

The career session was facilitated by Madam Tobi Jane Davidson from Career360 Academy, who guided students on the importance of self-awareness, understanding their interests, and making intentional decisions about their future. She encouraged students not to be defined by past experiences or negative labels, but to recognize their potential and build confidence. She also emphasized the importance of mentorship, seeking guidance from teachers, continuous learning through reading, surrounding themselves with positive influences, and developing the right mindset to succeed in their education and future careers.

The interactive Q&A session created an opportunity for students to ask questions and receive practical advice from facilitators about university preparation, career opportunities, and personal development.

Speaking during the session, facilitators encouraged students to take ownership of their future by continuously learning, building relevant skills, and using available resources to improve themselves.

Through this initiative, American Corner Agbogba continues to support young people by providing access to knowledge, mentorship, and opportunities that prepare them for success in education, careers, and leadership.
