How can teachers captivate students in a world where textbooks alone can’t hold their attention? This is a challenge many educators face daily, especially when resources are limited. At American Corner Agbogba a partnership between Mobile Web Ghana and the U.S. Embassy Ghana: we are providing answers through our STEM series programs, equipping teachers with the digital skills they need to transform classrooms.
Recently, we hosted a Canva for Education training for teachers from the La Nkwantanang and Adenta Education Directorates. The session was facilitated by Emmanuel Ekow Arthur, Founder of Ekow Krations Art who guided participants through practical ways of using Canva to enhance teaching and learning.
Teachers discovered how Canva for Education offers a variety of tools tailored for different subjects and topics, helping them design lesson materials that are engaging, visually appealing, and easy for students to grasp.
With Canva, complex concepts can now be simplified into clear visuals, and teachers can create interactive resources that make learning not just effective, but exciting. The training bridged the gap between traditional teaching and modern learning, ensuring educators are not left behind in the digital shift.
But it didn’t end there. Teachers were also exposed to AI tools and GPTs, unlocking new ways to innovate, problem-solve, and inspire creativity. From lesson planning to exploring entrepreneurship opportunities, they discovered how technology can open doors beyond the classroom.
